Why do we donate? We began this company with the intention of using our jewelry to help others. Jewelry is something that can tell a story, become an heirloom, a history lesson. It is our hope that many of our pieces will be passed from generation to generation and stories about what they mean will be told to others. We hope they will become hands-on history lessons. That one day a grandmother will explain to her great-granddaughter what a pink ribbon represents, or how our freedoms have been challenged, but our red, white and blue colors have remained strong. Awareness and education are steps in the battle against may issues and illnesses. We are using our jewelry to generate awareness and funds. We have donated the profits from many of our jewelry lines to various non-profits and will continue to do so. From the American Cancer Society to the USA War Victims Fund, we are trying to help. There are many, many organizations that need help. We encourage others to do what they can to help in their own communities and abroad. Whether it is by volunteering time, talents, supplies or funds every little bit of help one can provide to those in need is appreciated.
Why do we donate?
We originally split the funds raised from the sale of the America's Pride line between The United Way of America, New York City and the USA War Victims Fund. The United Way is a large non-profit organization that addresses many different areas of need. The USA War Victims Fund was established to help September 11th victims and their familes. 100% of contributions made to the USA War Victims Fund go to the charitable activities of the Fund. We have also chosen to make additional donations to those that have "fallen through the cracks." Such as the family of a man called to active duty in October, 2001. His family was struggling financially to make ends meet. We chose to help them through our local United Way office and encourage Americans across the country to think of those that have been indirectly hurt by 9/11/01 and the current war in Iraq.
