What Causes Fancy Pink Diamonds?
Diamonds actually come in all colors, and the colors are caused by impurities in the carbon molecules from which the diamonds were formed. Nitrogen causes yellow diamonds. Blue diamonds are caused by boron and are actually semi-conductors. Green diamonds are caused by radiation (such as exposure to radioactive materials in the kimberlite pipe where they were formed).
